The Conference is a three-day event that will start on Wednesday 7th May and conclude on Friday 9th May at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC), located at Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, Barbados.

Travel to Barbados

Barbados requires individuals travelling on passports or travel documents issued from certain countries to obtain an entry visa prior to travel.

Immigration and Customs Form

All arriving visitors are required to submit a correctly completed immigration/customs form. Travellers are required to complete the online Immigration and Customs Form which will be available 72 hours prior to arrival. Immigration and Customs Form

Arriving by plane

The Grantley Adams International Airport is the international airport of Barbados. It is about 13 kilometers (km) from the center of the capital city Bridgetown. The airport is located approximately 20 minutes (14km) from the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Center. There is an in-bound duty-free shop in the Arrivals Terminal.

Friendly porters are available to assist you with your bags. Be sure to agree on a price for their services.

Car hire, taxis and public transportation are all easily available. As you emerge from the Arrivals Hall, let the Taxi Dispatcher know your intended destination. You will be advised of the fare and other logistics and directed to an available taxi.

Power Sockets

Barbados operates on a 115V supply voltage and 50Hz. There are two associated plug types, types A and B. Plug type A is the plug which has two flat parallel pins and plug type B is the plug which has two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin. You may need a power plug travel adapter for sockets type A and B.

Currency Exchange

The Barbados dollar is the national currency of the island of Barbados. The currency is abbreviated as BBD in the foreign exchange market and is often represented by the symbol Bds$.

Credit and debit cards are widely accepted. Some businesses, including the majority of supermarkets, may ask you to show a valid photo ID when you use your credit or debit card, and some might request your passport.

1What happens after I submit my paper following the Call for Papers deadline?

You should have received a response from the Conference Secretariat confirming receipt of your submission(s). The papers will be forwarded for review and consideration by the Research Advisory Committee.
Once the review process is completed you will receive a communication regarding the outcome. We anticipate that this process will be completed by the end of February 2025.

 
2How do I register for the Conference?

Register for the Conference by visiting the Annual Health Research website. Complete and submit the online form to finance-conference@carpha.org. The Conference accepts Visa, MasterCard, Wire transfer, PayPal, WiPay, and Cash (at the Conference event)

 
3What is included in the cost of my registration?

Your registration provides you with access to all the plenary presentations, concurrent breakout sessions, exhibitors, cultural opening ceremony, lunch and beverages, and awards ceremony. Check the registration page for more information https://conference.carpha.org/Registration

 
4Are meals included with my registration?

At the Conference, lunch and beverages are provided.

 
5Can I register for Early Bird but pay at the venue?

Participants must pay ALL Early bird registrations by the designated date. Once this date passes, the registration will be changed to regular registration (paid online before the event) or late registration (at the venue).

 
6Are there group discounts available if we have more than one person who wants to register for an event?

We have special rates for groups of five or more attendees. Please contact finance-conference@carpha.org for more information.

 
7Can I purchase my conference registration when I get to the meeting?

We encourage all attendees to register for the Conference in advance. This allows us to plan accordingly for the appropriate number of attendees and manage accommodation. Check the registration page for more information https://conference.carpha.org/Registration

 
8Is hotel accommodation included in the registration fee?

The cost of hotel accommodation and travel are not included in the registration fee. Attendees are responsible for their own accommodation and travel costs. Please check the conference website for hotel accommodation information and how to book your accommodation.

 
9I booked at one of the preferred hotels. Are there any shuttles organised to transport me to and from the event?

Yes, transport will be provided from the recommended hotels to the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre daily. Once you have confirmed your hotel arrangements, please let us know so we can determine the numbers for transport.

 
10What is the cancellation/refund policy for the conference registration(s)?
  • Full refund before 23rd April 2025.
  • Only 50% refund after the 23rd April but before the 1st May 2025.
  • No refund after the 1st May 2025

11Are CME credits offered at the conference?

Yes. CME credits will be awarded at the conference based on the participant’s attendance at the sessions. Participants are encouraged to apply for the credits daily.
